Just four days after receiving the humbling and saddening news that the most anticipated video game of all time had been delayed to May 26, 2026 after a year-and-a-half of silence, Rockstar Games treated the Grand Theft Auto fan community to a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI along with 70 new screenshots and the launch of the game website.
As long predicted, the second trailer largely follows Jason Duval (now officially named), with the star of the first trailer, Lucia (now given the last name Caminos), serving as the supporting cast among a helm of new characters.
The trailer was captured using a base PlayStation 5 (not a PlayStation 5 Pro) without additional enhancements. It is entirely game footage. The game will look at least as good visually as seen in the trailer (compare Red Dead Redemption II trailers to the final product and one will find hope that the game might even look better by the time the final product is released).
The game website includes the second trailer and information and screenshots for different people and places in the game, along with downloadable videos, screenshots, and artwork.
We won’t spoil your opportunity to interact with the website and see the screenshots as Rockstar presents them, but we will share a list of the characters and places with profiles on the site.

It is apparent that the map will be far more diverse than the map of Southern San Andreas in Grand Theft Auto V and the wilderness areas will be full and populated, with Rockstar capturing its ability to make otherwise empty areas feel immersive and alive after its experience with Red Dead Redemption II. Grand Theft Auto VI will have something for everyone: want a big city? Vice City will feel more awake, bustling and vibrant than Los Santos could ever dream of. Want to venture off the beaten path? Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park will offer unique environments unlike anything ever seen in a Grand Theft Auto game before. Loved Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V? Smaller towns and cities that have seen better days abound! The last time the Grand Theft Auto series saw such diverse environments – big cities, small towns, wilderness areas – to this scale was in San Andreas in 2004! And the depth of the world of Grand Theft Auto VI will most certainly exceed that in every imaginable way.
So, what comes next? In the year to come there will most certainly be new updates for Grand Theft Auto V, perhaps even some tie-ins to Grand Theft Auto VI like what was seen leading up to the release of Red Dead Redemption II which gave players exclusive opportunities to unlock weapons otherwise unattainable in RDR2 and Red Dead Online through GTA Online. Now with the full website, players can expect more additions, screenshots, information, and potential trailers in the months ahead with the release of the game 385 days away. Then there is the other elephant in the room that has yet to be addressed or even confirmed by Rockstar – the sequel to Grand Theft Auto Online that will most certainly be bundled with Grand Theft Auto VI with a release a short time after the single-player campaign.
Exciting times lie ahead, and this drop serves as a much-needed boost to the community to bring new life and hype to the game following the dread of the delay announcement.
Now that we’re here, it’s so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
And all the mistakes, one life contained
They all finally start to go away– Staind
Grand Theft Auto VI became truly real today.
